Accommodation for students
Landing in a new country and attempting to find accommodation on arrival can be a time consuming, expensive exercise – not to mention the stress that would be associated with that process. Without knowledge of the local environment or the way things are done in a particular country it can be difficult for you to make informed decisions. Placeme will provide information and contacts that will make your decision-making stress-free and appropriate for your personal circumstances.
Information relating to accommodation will be important to you as there are many options available when you first arrive in a country. From our past experience we believe that most students find homestay accommodation with a resident family the most helpful in easing your transition into a new country and way of life. If you require such assistance please tell our counsellors.
There are other forms of accommodation to suit various needs and budgets. Many institutions can provide students with accommodation in hostels or even the local backpackers, halls of residence or dormitories. Many students also share accommodation and facilities in houses.
We caution our students not to select a place to rent based purely on the cost. As a student you need to consider such things as the distance from where you are staying to where you are studying and the availability of public transport. Although public transport may be available, the frequency and routes may not suit your study times or, if your have a part time job, getting you to your job on time. Please ensure you research your chosen accommodation thoroughly before deciding on it – involve us in this research as we are the experts in this area.

They really helped me tremendously in getting into UoA. They continued to help me a great deal even after coming to New Zealand to study with my visa and accommodation.

Maynooth University is by far the best experiences I have had in terms of education. The quality of education and exceptional faculty are the strong points for the university. The courses offered are tailor made to suit the preferences of the students and complies with the real world requirements. The infrastructure clearly stands true to the Emerald Isle tagline of Ireland. Both the university and the country have provided quantifiable benefits along with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Choosing to study abroad can be an intimidating process. A big chunk of credit goes to Placeme for guiding me in the application and visa processing very closely. I must say UCC is a brilliant university to be associated with. With over a hundred societies and clubs in the university, they encourage the students to be actively involved in various social and sports activities. Moreover, the Indian society here is very active, celebrating many Indian festivals and making me feel at home. The commonly spoken language in Ireland is English and the Irish people are friendly, it is easy to integrate into the society. Also, there are a lot of clubs, pubs and music bars in the city to hang out and make new friends from different nationalities.
